Your choice of 21 pulp novels and one religious text, all available to read in full. Check out the “Gallery” tab for comic books!

Scanned books are undergoing a transition to searchable text. Every effort has been made to reproduce the books as they originally appeared, and typos have been preserved wherever possible — printed versions may contain more printing and spacing errors, and pagination may vary slightly.

  1. Just letting you know that none of the books in your library show up, even when using different computers.
Hopefully this gets fixed soon; it’s really nice having these old pulp books be accessible.

    1. Hi, I know it’s been a couple months, but everything should be functioning now! Thanks for visiting and letting me know!

  2. Thanks so much for putting all this effort into digitizing and sharing! This is terrific and so important to preserve our queer literary history. Deeply appreciated.

    1. I don’t believe so, he was publishing shorter pieces in the early 70s than he had been before, but unfortunately The Hustling Place is the one Duke University doesn’t have in their archives. I had completely forgotten about that, I’ll try to locate a copy to scan.

  3. Hello!

“Scanned books are undergoing a transition to searchable text. ”

How do you search the text?

How do you print them or download them?

    Thanks!

    1. Hi Chris, only one of them is currently searchable — it’s “A Chosen World” and you can search in the top right corner.

The disclaimer refers to the differences between the original printed versions and searchable-text versions, which have some small alterations. (Again, only one is complete currently. I hope more will get done eventually, but I maintain the site in my spare time, and converting them is very labor-intensive.) If you’d like to save or print a simple PDF version, however, that option is available in the bottom right corner once you open each book.

      Hope this helps!
